Ken Early

Kenneth Early (Irish: Cionnaith O'Mochru; born 4 February 1979) is an Irish journalist and broadcaster. He is Chief Football Correspondent for Newstalk and is the key member of the station's Off The Ball football show.[1][2]

The nightly hour-long football round up on Newstalk reaches a wide audience, with an approximate audience share 12% in Dublin and 6% nation-wide in 2008.[3] Early has been present on the show from its inception.

The eldest of four children, Early was raised in (Templeogue, by Greenhills Park) and graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in 2000. During his time at the University, he served as the editor of TCD Miscellany. One of his earliest exposures to sport was as a member of the Templeogue Swimming Club.[4]

Not only does he co-present Off The Ball for Newstalk, he has also fronted the Arts strand Culture Shock on the same radio station. He has also presented the early Saturday morning political programme Saturday Edition.
